This piece inaugurates the Portraits cubistes cycle, a series of poem-portraits dedicated to musicians, stage partners and companions in artistic adventures. The writing process atomizes the phonemes of the subject’s name, blending them with terms related to their instrumental practice, to reassemble them into a sonic picture to be recited aloud.
The poem Oxiv is a portrait of Donatienne Michel-Dansac. Commissioned by the G.M.E.M. – Marseille’s National Centre for Musical Creation, Donn’sienne danse l’ac was premiered by Donatienne Michel-Dansac and Vincent Leterme at the Marseille Opera House on 4 December 2022.
