How to rent a material

The term ‘material’ refers to all the scores that enable an instrumental ensemble to play a musical work. Each score containing only the part of an instrument is called a ‘separate part’. The score containing all the parts, generally intended for the conductor, is called the ‘full score’.

Symétrie publishers offers a wide range of materials: some are available for sale (see the how to buy page) and others are available on rental only (see below for insctructions).

Rental request

  • Go to the page of the material available for rental that you wish to rent
  • Click on the ‘rent’ button
  • A contact form is displayed; please specify the following details:
    • the name of your organisation
    • your organisation’s VAT number
    • the date(s) and venue(s) of the concert(s)
    • whether there are any secondary commercial uses during the concert(s) (e.g. live broadcasting, CD recording, etc.)
    • the address for receiving the material
    • the full name of the person responsible for signing the contract
    • the desired string nomenclature (e.g. 10 8 6 5 4), i.e. the number of scores required
    • the desired date of receipt of the material
  • We study your request and send you a quote. The quote summarizes the scores provided and sets the rental price excluding tax and tax included.

Why are there no shipping costs on the quote?
The quote does not show shipping costs because they will be added at the end, during invoicing, based on the actual weight of the shipment.

What exactly is included in the material?
Very often, the material only concerns the score sets for the orchestra’s instrumentalists: the conductor or solo parts are rarely included. We advise you to check the exact content by looking at the details under the publication or on the quote. Don’t hesitate to ask us if you have any doubts.

Finalising the rental request

The quote provided above is for information purposes only: it is not binding on either party.
To confirm the rental request, you must :

  • return the quote to us by email, signed and stamped by the requesting organisation; this indicates acceptance of the price;
  • in return, we will send you the rental contract to be returned to us by email, also signed and stamped; this indicates acceptance of the hire conditions.

Once these two documents have been signed and returned, the rental is concluded.

Shipping and billing

The shipment is then scheduled, accompanied by a sheet summarizing the contents of the package.
You will receive by email, following the shipment of the package, the invoice corresponding to the rental.

When should I pay my invoice?
Invoices must be paid no later than the day after the last concert mentioned on the invoice.

What exactly does the invoice include?
The invoice includes the elements of the approved quotation, together with delivery charges.

Use and return

The material is to be used by the performers for the concert(s) specified in the quote. After the last concert, the entire material must be returned within a maximum of one month, at your expense.

What happens if a score is missing?
A clear intention to damage the material or the omission of part of the material in the return parcel may result in additional costs to replenish the material.
