Brigitte Bouthinon-Dumas’ connivance with the piano goes back to her earliest years. As a child, she was admitted to Yvonne Lefébure’s class at the Conservatoire national supérieur de Paris at the age of 14. She also studied with Yvonne Loriod and Germaine Mounier. After graduating at the age of 18, Brigitte Bouthinon-Dumas pursued a career of recitals and chamber music. She taught at the C.R.R. in Paris from 1995 to 2015 where she was a piano class teacher.
