Luca Antignani (Italy, 1976) graduated in piano, orchestral conducting, electronic music and composition, improving his qualification at the Accademia Nazionale of Santa Cecilia in Rome with A. Corghi, at the Scuola Civica in Milano with A. Solbiati and at the IRCAM in Paris.
His pieces had been committed by prestigious institutions as Biennale di Venezia, Opéra de Lyon, Opéra Comique de Paris, french government, Orchestre national de Lyon, Orchestra Nazionale della RAI, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia, Orchestre de Radio-France and Concours Lily Laskine de Paris.
He won several international composition prizes as GRAME/EOC 2008 and Barlow Endowment 2005. His pieces had been performed in several music festivals as Musica (Strasbourg), Les Musiques (Marseille), RAI NuovaMusica (Turin), Dresdner Musikfestspiele (Dresde), Settembre Musica (Turin), Milano Musica (2004), Festival international d’orchestres de Jeunes Européens (2003), and also in Montréal, Paris (Résonances, Présences, Agora), Sienne (Accademia Chigiana), Milan (“Pomeriggi Musicali” Symphony Orchestra, “Cantelli” Symphony Orchestra), Venise (Festival della Biennale 2000, 2005 et 2015) and Rome (Festival Nuova Consonanza, Festival Berio).
His compositions had been interpreted by Lemanic Modern Ensemble, Ensemble Agora, Chœur Britten, Ensemble Les Temps Modernes, Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, Quatuor Debussy, Ensemble Accroche Note, Quatuor Molinari, Divertimento Ensemble, Nouvelle Ensemble Moderne and Ensemble Alternance.
Some of his works have been broadcasted and telecasted by RAI (Radio Televisione Italiana) and by a lot of national radios (like Radio-France and Radio-Canada). His scores are edited by Edizioni Suvini Zerboni (Milano) and distributed in France by Alphonse Leduc (Paris). Currently he teaches orchestration at the CNSMD of Lyon (France) and contemporary music and orchestration at the HEM of Luasanne (Suisse).
