Michał Piotr Mrozowicki

Michal Piotr Mrozowicki est l’auteur de quelques articles sur la thématique wagnérienne, tels que « Quelques remarques sur les querelles autour des traductions de Die Walküre de Richard Wagner » (dans Territoires comparatistes. Mélanges offerts à Zbigniew Naliwajek, Varsovie 2014) ; « Lohengrin à Varsovie » et « Épître à Louise », étude écrite pour l’hommage du Cercle Richard Wagner de Lyon à la cantatrice Louise Janssen.

Michal Piotr Mrozowicki, born in Gdynia, Poland in 1956, is professor of French literature at the University of Gdansk. He headed the Department of Romanic Literature at the Institute of Romanic Philology. He is the author of a few books (Raymond Queneau, du surréalisme à la littérature potentielle, Katowice 1990 ; Michel Tournier et l’art de la concision, Katowice 1995) and around 60 articles devoted to French writers (notably Stéphane Mallarmé, Marcel Proust, Michel Butor, Raymond Queneau, Georges Perec, Jean Giono, Samuel Beckett, Émile Zola, Michel Tournier and the Goncourt brothers).

From 2010, he turned to musicology, which allowed him to realize his great passion: Wagnerian and Gallophile since his childhood, he was able to tackle the subject linking the two fields that attracted him by writing, for the bicentenary of the birth of Richard Wagner, the first part of Richard Wagner et sa réception en France. The book, written in French, appeared in Gdansk, Poland in 2013 and was noticed by French-speaking Wagnerians, notably by the Cercle Richard Wagner of Lyon, which decided to appoint Michal Piotr Mrozowicki as honorary member.

Michal Piotr Mrozowicki is the author of several articles on the Wagnerian theme, such as “Quelques remarques sur les querelles autour des traductions de Die Walküre de Richard Wagner” (in Territoires comparatistes. Mélanges offerts à Zbigniew Naliwajek, Warsaw 2014); Lohengrin à Varsovie and Épître à Louise, a study written for the tribute of the Cercle Richard Wagner of Lyon to the singer Louise Janssen.
