Among his very first experimentations in composition (1917- 1920), Henri Sauguet sketched out a few art songs on poems by Koutchak, Cocteau and Apollinaire.These art songs have remained unpublished according to the composer’s will.
Throughout his career he gave isolated pages, collections and genuine cycles to the art song genre until his last work, Dans la maison de paix, composed in 1987 on a poem by his adoptive son Raphaël Cluzel.
