Guy Cornut, assistant physician at the Regional Hospital Centre of Lyon, was for 30 years in charge of the Department of Phoniatry at the ENT clinic of the Faculty of Medicine of Lyon. He has taught at the School of Speech and Language Therapy, the Faculty of Musicology, the IUFM and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon. He is the author of numerous scientific publications as well as the book La Voix in the “Que sais-je?” series published by the Presses universitaires de France.
In parallel to his medical career, he has always been a choral conductor, first with the Lyon University Choir and then with the Lyon Vocal Ensemble, which he founded in 1962 and of which he is still the musical director. He has conducted oratorios by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Purcell and Mendelssohn.
He has been a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres since 1995.
